Aviva Janus, Director of Congregational Learning and Programming, grew up in a large conservative synagogue on Long Island, New York. She studied psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She earned a Masters in Jewish Professional Studies at the Spertus Institute for Jewish Leaning and Leadership in Chicago. Aviva lived in Israel for six years and is proficient in Hebrew. She is passionate about crafting opportunities for relevant and meaningful Jewish educational and programmatic experiences. Aviva enjoys the opportunity to work with a diverse array of specialists to enrich our lives at HSOSC including musicians, comedians, storytellers, historians, political analysts, and puppeteers. In her spare time, Aviva can be found cooking a variety of soups, cycling, and walking her big dog, Sammy. She spends too much time tending to her house plants—the variety of which has grown during the pandemic. Her new passions include aqua spin and virtual traveling.  Aviva has five children ranging in age from thirteen to twenty-six, and one baby grandson, Ezra.

Lindsay Gaister Montague, Youth and Teen Engagement Specialist, joined HSOSC in August 2020 from Beth Tfiloh Congregation where she was the Director of Programming and Social Action for more than 14 years. She has her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Delaware, where she majored in English and minored in Jewish Studies. When she's not working, Lindsay enjoys painting, writing, crafting, cooking, and spending time with her husband Travys, her son Logan, daughters Shayna and Lacey, and their three dogs, Australian Shepherd Watson, Cocker Spaniel Bella, and Shorkie Shorty. Born and raised in Baltimore, Lindsay loves her hometown! She has season tickets to the Baltimore Ravens and enjoys tailgating and going to games with her dad and brother. She is also very passionate about helping the community, building relationships and making a difference in the lives of others. Lindsay hopes to publish a children’s book one day!

Estelle Standiford, Office Receptionist, was born and raised in Baltimore. She has worked in the capacity of Secretary and as an Insurance Representative. However, her longest stint has been at HSOSC -- first as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Education, then in the main office, and now as our receptionist. When on calls during office hours, the voice at the other end is Estelle’s. In 2021, Estelle will celebrate over 30 years with us! In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, going to indoor soccer games, seeing New York and Hippodrome Broadway shows, attending dinner theater, listening to music, watching movies, reading, and completing word puzzles. After all these years, Estelle’s positive attitude and her smile is still going strong.

Marlene Elaine Pachino, Administrative Assistant, was born and raised in Baltimore. She and her husband, Joe Pachino, have been members for over 40 years. Together they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren who all live locally. Marlene has been with HSOSC the years before it became HSOSC and was Temple Oheb Shalom. She served as the receptionist on Sundays. Now she works Monday thru Friday helping with office projects and research. In her spare time, Marlene loves to take cruises, garden, and organize her home. She also enjoys knitting blankets for her grandchildren.

In addition, Stacy has a can-do attitude, and no job is impossible or too hard for him. He has 2 children and 3 grandchildren and a cat named Baby. He enjoys watching football and playing chess in his spare time.
