Bill Bronstein, Director of Adult Education. Born in Houston, TX and received his college degree in Judaic Studies from the State University of New York @ Albany, then spent a year living and studying in Israel. He and his wife (Denice) have been married 38 years this fall, and have made Baltimore their home for the past 26 years. In addition to running the Religious School, Bill’s duties consist of, teaching the combined 8th-9th grade classes, assisting Rabbi Sabath Beit-Halachmi and Cantor Marcus with the Confirmation Class, teaching Adult Education classes, Family Education programs, and preparing many of the students for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah service. For the past 20 years, Bill worked full time as a Special Education Paraeducator in Baltimore and Howard Counties. He was awarded the 2021 Sam Kahan Distinguished Educator Award presented by The Associated of Greater Baltimore. This award is for creating a lasting impact on our community’s children through excellence in Jewish Education. He looks forward to seeing everyone throughout the year with his open-door policy. All of our adult classes, whether formal or informal, are also open and he would love to see you participate in all that we offer.
Lindsay Gaister Montague, Director of Congregational Life, joined HSOSC in August 2020 from Beth Tfiloh Congregation where she was the Director of Programming and Social Action for more than 14 years. She has her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Delaware, where she majored in English and minored in Jewish Studies. When she's not working, Lindsay enjoys painting, writing, crafting, cooking, and spending time with her husband Travys, her son Logan, daughters Shayna and Lacey, and their three dogs. Born and raised in Baltimore, Lindsay loves her hometown! She has season tickets to the Baltimore Ravens and enjoys tailgating and going to games with her dad and brother. She is also very passionate about helping the community, building relationships and making a difference in the lives of others. Estelle Standiford, Office Receptionist, was born and raised in Baltimore. She has worked in the capacity of Secretary and as an Insurance Representative. However, her longest stint has been at HSOSC -- first as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Education, then in the main office, and now as our receptionist. When on calls during office hours, the voice at the other end is Estelle’s. In 2021, Estelle will celebrate over 30 years with us! In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, going to indoor soccer games, seeing New York and Hippodrome Broadway shows, attending dinner theater, listening to music, watching movies, reading, and completing word puzzles. After all these years, Estelle’s positive attitude and her smile is still going strong.
Marlene Elaine Pachino, Executive Administrative Assistant, was born and raised in Baltimore. She and her husband, Joe Pachino, have been members for over 40 years. Together they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren who all live locally. Marlene has been with HSOSC the years before it became HSOSC and was Temple Oheb Shalom. She served as the receptionist on Sundays. Now she works Monday thru Friday helping with office projects and research. In her spare time, Marlene loves to take cruises, garden, and organize her home. Stacy Smith, Facility Manager and Event Coordinator, has worked at our congregation since 2016. He comes to us with many years of experience doing event planning and coordination. In addition, Stacy has a can-do attitude, and no job is impossible or too hard for him. He has 2 children and 3 grandchildren and a cat named Baby. Robin Lumpkin, LCSWC, Shleimut Social Worker since 2015, was born in Brooklyn New York but relocated to Baltimore at a young age. She holds a BS in Psychology from Towson University and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Robin has worked at Baltimore County Department of Social Services for over twenty years serving in a variety of roles focused on families and children. She currently works as the BC-DSS After-Hours lead providing emergency coverage and clinical assessments for issues such as homelessness and child/elder abuse and neglect. Robin is married to John and they have two sons, Joshua and Tyler. She loves hiking, biking and spending time with her family and friends. robin@hsosc-baltimore.org

Justin joins us from Jewish Education Services (previously Center for Jewish Education). In another life, he was a host and reporter for Arizona Public Radio in Flagstaff, AZ. Justin is excited to get to work, and can't wait to meet all the amazing members of the HSOSC family.

A Baltimore native who grew up in Richmond, Virginia, Sherman has served as executive director of Pikesville’s Har Sinai-Oheb Shalom Congregation for the past year and previously served in that position at Pikesville’s Chizuk Amuno Congregation. He has served on the ICJS’s board of trustees since 2020, and is a longtime participant and supporter of the independent education nonprofit. Sherman, 69, earned bachelor of arts and master’s degrees in English from the University of Virginia, as well as a juris doctor degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. From 2009 to 2016, he served as president and CEO of the Association of Jewish Family & Children’s Agencies, a network of more than 125 human service providers in North America. He also worked for eight years as director of strategic development at Catholic Charities of Baltimore.
