Caring Hands Committee

The Caring Hands Committee of Har Sinai – Oheb Shalom Congregation is dedicated to reaching out to our Temple community to make them feel cared about, supported and valued.

We write personal notes of congratulations for happy events, get well notes to Congregational members who are ill and notes of condolence to family members after the recent death of a loved one.

During non-Covid times we attend funerals and Shiva houses of members and their loved ones.  At the present time we are doing this virtually.

During normal times we stay at a house of mourning while family members are at the funeral to accept food deliveries and set up the food. We also organize food trains for houses of mourning and people who are ill. To let shut-in members know that they’re thought of, we call them regularly.  Once the pandemic is over, we look forward to visiting them in person.

Please communicate with us

If you or another Temple member you know needs some extra support or is celebrating a special event, please let us know by contacting:

All information will be held in strict confidence, but without your help, we  may never know that someone is in need or celebrating a special event.

We are always looking for new committee members to share in our mitzvah. If you are interested in joining our committee please let us know.

We hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to help and to be helped by Temple members who truly care.
