Rosh Hashanah 5782 In-Person Attendance Information

Shanah tovah! We are thrilled that you want to join us in-person for Rosh Hashanah 5782.

As we’ve mentioned before, our two objectives are safety and inclusion. Fortunately, after reviewing seat request/registration, our numbers allow us to welcome everyone for the service they requested. In addition, if you pre-registered to bring non-member guests, they are welcome to attend as well.

Below you will find information to help guide you in preparation for arrival at HSOSC.

Please note: In case of severe inclement weather please check our website and calendar for updates.

Information for both INDOOR and OUTDOOR services:

  • If you picked up a Rosh Hashanah prayer book in the drive-by, please bring it with you. Otherwise, prayer books will be provided.
  • When parking, if you are able to, please park at the far end of the parking lot to allow members with difficulty walking access to closer parking spots.
  • Please remember to properly wear your mask at all times, regardless of service location or vaccination status. If you forgot your mask, we will supply you with one.
  • Before leaving HSOSC, be sure to stop by the outside entrance to the Greenebaum Sanctuary for the Grab-and-Go Oneg, graciously sponsored by The Women’s Club.

For those participating INDOORS:

  • After parking, proceed to the Greenebaum Sanctuary entrance where everyone must check-in before entering the building. Check-in will begin 30 minutes prior to each service. Please make every effort to be timely.
  • As previously explained, due to social distancing requirements and capacity limitations, there will be no reserved seats and your entire party needs to be present before being seated.
  • Seat Attendants will be in the Greenebaum Sanctuary to guide you to your seat. You will be seated in alternating rows, filling each row one at a time, and three empty seats will be required between each pod within each row. This is all in an effort to maintain social distancing and minimize the amount in which pods cross paths. We appreciate your patience in following the direction of the Seat Attendants.
  • To maintain the safety of everyone in the building, after being seated, please remain in your seat and save our cherished High Holy Day schmoozing for outside after the Shofar service.
  • Entrance to each restroom will be limited to two people at a time. Ushers will be present to assist with this.
  • If at any time you feel uncomfortable, the Gordon Chapel will be set up for overflow seating to stream the service.
  • At the conclusion of the morning service, Seat Attendants will guide the exit from the Greenebaum Sanctuary. Please swiftly and carefully make your way to the Main Tent in the front of the building to join the entire community for our Diane and Warren Israel Shofar Service. No need to check-in again at the tent.
  • Should your plans to attend services indoors change, please remember to contact Executive Director Amy Mallor at 410-358-0105 or Amy.Mallor@hsosc-baltimore.org to let her know. We are keeping a very close watch on the numbers, so please contact Amy at your earliest convenience so that we can plan accordingly.

For those participating OUTDOORS:

After parking, proceed to your location listed below where everyone must check-in before entering the tent for your service.

  • Check-in will begin 30-minutes prior to each service. Please make every effort to be timely.
  • Outdoor locations are as follows:
    • Tot & Family Event/Service - The Learning Ladder courtyard (to the left of the Chapel entrance)
    • Shofar Service - The Main Tent in the front of the building
    • Youth & Family Service - The Main Tent in the front of the building
  • As a reminder, due to social distancing requirements and capacity limitations, there will be no reserved seats and your entire party needs to be present before being seated.
  • Please leave three seats between each pod and make every attempt to fill rows as people arrive to avoid pods from crossing paths.
  • To maintain the safety of everyone, after being seated, please remain in your seat and save our cherished High Holy Day schmoozing for after the services are over.
  • There will be restroom trailers available for those attending outdoor services.

We are so excited to be able to utilize our indoor and outdoor prayer spaces, and cannot wait to see everyone very soon!
