Frequently Asked Questions about Yom Kippur 5782

Who needs to complete the seat request form?
Everyone! Even though our outdoor services are open to whomever with no capacity limit, we need record of everyone who will be attending any service or event for contact tracing purposes.

Who can attend indoor and outdoor services and events?

  • While adhering to HSOSC COVID policies, all members are welcome to register and request a seat, including children of members 26 years and younger.
  • If you are fully vaccinated against COVID, you can register for all indoor and outdoor services and events.
  • If you are under 12 years of age or medically ineligible to receive a COVID vaccine, you can register for all outdoor services and outdoor events.

Does completing this seat request mean I can show up at any outdoor service?
Yes! Due to HSOSC COVID reopening guidelines, we are requiring registration for outdoor services; however, all are welcome to attend and there are no capacity limits. Masks are required.

Does completing this seat request mean I can show up at any indoor service?

  • No. Due to capacity limitation and HSOSC COVID reopening guidelines, indoor seating is limited.
  • While we hope to be able to accommodate everyone's request, completion of this form does not guarantee indoor seating. We will be processing requests to determine capacity limits and will get back to you.
  • Please note, there will be no assigned, reserved, or saving seats in the Greenebaum Sanctuary and families/pods will be socially distanced. Masks are required.

How long do I have to complete this seat request?
Seat requests for outdoor services do not have a time limit. The first round of seat requests for indoor services will close at 10 am on Tuesday, September 14th, at which point we will begin processing requests.

What if my plans change?
Should your plans change, that’s ok! If you requested outdoor services, there is no need to let us know. If you requested indoor services, please make sure to contact Executive Director Amy Mallor at 410-358-0105 or Amy.Mallor@hsosc-baltimore.org so we can reassign your seats.

What can you tell me about accessibility?
Every person will be accommodated regardless of service location; however, hearing enhancers are only available at indoor services.

I have guests I would like to bring with me. How does this work?

  • For outdoor services, please include your guest(s) in the ticket request and they are welcome to join you.
  • For indoor services, please contact Christina Parsons at 410-358-0105 or CParsons@hsosc-baltimore.org. We will be processing requests to determine capacity limits and will get back to you.

Is it too late to sign up for an honor or aliyah?
To ensure maximum safety and social distancing, we will be maintaining a COVID-safe atmosphere with only clergy on the bimah; therefore, no honors will be given out this year.

Will there be babysitting for parents who wish to attend indoor services?
We are sorry, but due to COVID safety protocols, babysitting will not be offered this year. We would love to encourage you to attend any of our outdoor services!

Can you please remind me of the HSOSC High Holy Day Indoor and Outdoor COVID Policies?

  • All must be masked
  • All must be socially distanced
  • All must register for in-person services and events, regardless of location
  • For High Holy Days only, you must be fully vaccinated to attend indoor services. Those who are ineligible are welcome to attend any outdoor services.

What if I have questions that are still left unanswered?
If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Executive Director Amy Mallor at 410-358-0105 or Amy.Mallor@hsosc-baltimore.org.
