One in five people and one in four adults identify as people with disabilities. This means that disability is an extraordinarily common part of the human experience. Yet, taboo, stigma and misunderstanding often keep us from discussing disability with the same openness that we explore other experiences. The first step to normalizing the disability experience is open and candid conversation – it is the unknown which can create a feeling of othering.  

Join noted advocate, NFTY alumnus and experienced teen educator, Matan Koch, for an “Ask Me Anything” with our younger teens and their parents. Discussing and answering burning questions in a supportive group is one of the best ways to make the mysterious and the frightening commonplace, and to recognize that the “other” is a different part of “us.”
