Let’s admit it. Managing end-of-life care is a topic we collectively avoid. We can’t do anything about death, but we can impact its run-up by using free or low-cost, legal, and readily available tools.  We must overcome our reluctance to initiate “the talk” and then follow through from there. When we do so, we will do better for patients, their family, clinicians, our community, the healthcare system in general, and ourselves.
