The world has become accustomed to the United States as the leader of the free world in both economic and military strength. Since its inception, the United States has played a centralized role in shaping the global, international order. However, was the United States meant to be so entangled in foreign affairs as intended by the U.S. Constitution? Did the Founding Fathers envision the newly minted republic and its posterity as one day carrying the mantle of being "global peacekeepers"? In this course, students will discuss and examine several topics involving the U.S. Constitution and its intent toward America's foreign involvement.

Matthew L Harding is currently employed as an adjunct professor at CCBC, teaching US Constitutional History, Current Events and English. He has earned six degrees, three of which are advanced, specialized degrees in the areas of Education, Law, Public Policy, Legal Studies, and Jurisprudence and a Ph.D. that is currently in progress, at Capella University, in Comparative Law. His M.Ed., from the Pennsylvania Western University, consists of a major in Educational Leadership and a minor in English as a Second Language. His M.S. and Post-Baccalaureate (PBACC) degrees are both from the California University of Pennsylvania and consist of dual majors in both Law and Public Policy. Additionally, he has earned three separate undergraduate degrees from both the California University of Pennsylvania and Westmoreland County Community College, that include a B.A. in Jurisprudence and two A.A. degrees in Legal Studies and general education.
