Religious Responses to the Holocaust ($48 temple members/$60 non-members)
Thursdays, April 14, 21 and 28 (10:30 a.m.-noon)
Course Summary: The Holocaust (Shoah) was a cataclysmic event which shook the western world. The murder of the Six Million and millions more evoked serious theological, religious and human questions. This class will look at some of the responses to those questions primarily by Jewish and Christian thinkers after Auschwitz. We will also take a brief look at some Muslim responses. The members of the class will be encouraged to explore their own responses to the Shoah.
Facilitator: Rabbi Floyd Herman is the Rabbi Emeritus of Har Sinai-Oheb Shalom Congregation. He served as the Rabbi at Har Sinai Congregation for more than 35 years. He continues his involvement in our newly merged congregation and in the community. He also enjoys golf and food. Rabbi Herman has taught before in our SPICE program on several occasions.
