One Year After the Election ($48 temple members/$60 non-members)

Course Summary: Four weeks of classes on the American presidency, the Congress and what’s going on in Washington: Review of the 2020 election, the controversial fallout, the Capitol insurrection, the new direction of the Biden administration. Impact, or lack of impact of the Biden/Democratic stimulus relief act on easing the Covid crisis, ending the recession, creating a fast-growing economy and reducing poverty in America. Biden’s other priority agenda items: Where do they stand? Status of the Republican Party – its leadership, its opposition agenda & its future outlook. Much, much more, depending on developments by November.

Facilitator: Barry Rascovar has been an influential voice on Maryland politics for four decades with the Baltimore Sun. Today, Barry teaches courses on presidential elections and foreign policy at various local lifelong learning programs. Barry is the author of “The Great Game of Maryland Politics” and “Marylanders of the Century.” He holds honorary degrees from both Stevenson and Towson Universities.

Registration Policies:

• All SPICE courses must be registered for and paid for in their entirety by the first session. Due to a new MD sales tax regulation, we are now required to charge 6% sales tax on all courses delivered electronically.
• All SPICE courses for January-June 2021 will be presented on Zoom.
• SPICE fees are per head, not per household, with a 50% off fee for second registrants within the same household.
• A minimum of 15 enrollees per class is required.
