Thursdays, October 7, 14, 21 and 28 (10:30 a.m.-noon)

Course Summary: This class will examine two of the three Abrahamic religions: Judaism and Christianity. We will explore such topics as how we interpret the Hebrew Bible in different ways; a Jewish view of Jesus; the birth of what we today call Judaism and Christianity; relationships over the centuries; our views of God, salvation, redemption and other theological topics and the state of Jewish/Christian relations today. As much as possible, this will be an interactive class. Everyone will be encouraged to participate.

Facilitator: Rabbi Floyd Herman is the Rabbi Emeritus of Har Sinai-Oheb Shalom Congregation. He served as the Rabbi at Har Sinai Congregation for more than 35 years. He continues his involvement in our newly merged congregation and in the community. He also enjoys golf and food. Rabbi Herman has taught before in our SPICE program on several occasions.
