This course is designed to allow students to discuss and examine the way the world is supposed to work between sovereign states and how it actually works. Topics to be covered include the ancient and medieval worlds, the rise of the Western state system, international law, war and “isms” such as Fascism, Naziism, Socialism, Marxism, Communism and Imperialism. We will review how international organizations operate and the rise and fall of nations.
