Rabbi Michael Marmur is Associate Professor of Jewish Theology at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Jerusalem. He previously served as the Dean of HUC in Jerusalem, and then as Provost of the College-Institute across its campuses. Born and raised in England, Rabbi Marmur has lived in Israel for over 40 years. He is a previous Chair and current Board Member of Rabbis for Human Rights. His publications include Abraham "Joshua Heschel and the Sources of Wonder" and, together with the late David Ellenson, "American Jewish Thought Since 1934". His theological work "Living the Letters: An Alphabet of Emerging Jewish Thought", is due for publication by Palgrave Macmillan in March. Michael lives in Jerusalem with his wife Sarah Bernstein, Executive Director of the Rossing Center for Education and Dialogue. They have three adult children.
