Bat Mitzvah of Ilana Cymet

Ilana's life is full of rings and rinks, highlighting her love of horses and figure skating. A simple Groupon to the local skating rink at the age of 5 led to lessons, hours of practice, competitions, testing, and now she is excited to be a member of the DC Edge Synchronized Skating Team. The rink has become her second home, and the cold never bothered her anyway. If not on the ice, she can be found on a horse. She enjoys lessons at McDonogh and Camp Puh'Tok, and jumping is one of her favorite things.

A native Marylander, the JCC was a big part of Ilana's toddler years, and she made many lasting friendships there. McDonogh School has fostered her love of books, and it's often hard to pull her away from whatever she is reading. Battle of the Books is a highlight of her Middle School years. 

We can't talk about Ilana without mentioning cats. Samara and Coco have been her non-human siblings and confidants that she has fed, groomed, and cleaned up after. Her cats probably know more about her than her parents.

Ilana is kind, sweet, caring, and compassionate. She is fun, funny, and has a quirky sense of humor. She'll recite scenes from The Office or Parks and Recreation for hours. Her parents, Tyler and Holly, are extremely proud of the young lady she is growing into.
