Willa is one of the coolest kids we know. She has never wavered from the sentiment of being true to herself, and that is not an easy thing to do. (Especially in middle school.) Willa is smart, hysterical, kind, creative, and compassionate. Her bedroom is everyone’s favorite room in the house. It’s full of records and CDs (everyone from Lana Del Rey to Beach House to The Beatles), plants and flowers, crystals, art supplies, and tons of beauty products. Willa is a 7th-grade student at Dumbarton Middle School, where she plays field hockey and is a GT art student. She spends her summers at Camp Louise (a second-generation camper) and loves playing soccer and roller skating. Willa is a fierce advocate for women and has attended countless marches dedicated to women’s rights and decided to collect feminine hygiene products to help combat period poverty as her Bat Mitzvah project. Her favorite person in the house is our rescue pup Lulu, who hangs out on Willa’s bed during the day, awaiting her return. Willa is surrounded by brothers—one older, Milo, and two younger, Zeke and Gideon, and she revels in both torturing them and fiercely loving them. Willa hates making her bed, loves the Gilmore Girls, hates salmon, loves hanging with her girlfriends, hates sharing a bathroom with her twin brothers, loves musicals, hates riding the bus, and loves chai lattes. To be in Willa’s orbit is to love and admire her, and we (Janelle & Ron) are just so proud to be her mom and dad.
