11:00 AM - 12:30 PMHSOSCBar Mitzvah of Aaron Sachs (Rabbi Weiner's son)
Originally scheduled: November 7, 2020
Re-Bar: June 19, 2021
Aaron Sachs is in the 7th grade AAP (Advanced Academic Program) and an honors student at Washington Irving Middle School in Springfield, VA. He enjoys gaming, creating country balls (stress balls with country flags drawn on them), creating computer graphics, and hanging out with his friends and cousins on Zoom. He also has attended URJ Camp Harlam for five summers and will be attending for his 6th year beginning a few days after he becomes a Bar Mitzvah.
For his Mitzvah Project before COVID-19, Aaron was visiting with residents at Chesterbrook Residences, a local assisted living facility, where his Poppa lived. The residents appreciated Aaron helping them with the TV so they could watch movies and play Wii games. He also attended and helped with Jewish holiday programs and enjoyed playing bowling on the Wii with residents before COVID-19 prevented visits.
Aaron thanks his tutor, Jeannette Astrow, all of his religious school teachers, rabbis and cantor for helping prepare him for this special day. Aaron thanks his parents, Rabbi Jennifer Weiner and Jeffrey Sachs and his brother, Micah, his Aunt Lyla and his aunts and uncles for their love and support. He is grateful for having had his Bubbie and his Poppa in his life. Aaron is also thankful for his Oma and Opa, Arline and Sid Sachs, and for all his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
